Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Stan Rone

Dr. Stan Rone is a Montgomery, Alabama native and pastor of The Worship Center for 34 years. He preaches an unwavering gospel message with the vision of “Presenting The Never-Changing God to an ever-changing world.” He is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in Intelligence and Advance Systems for 20 year, one month, and one day until his retirement on June 1, 1990, at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. 

He was ordained in 1979 and has served in many ecclesiastical positions both nationally and internationally in countries like Thailand, Okinawa, Haiti and Kenya. He has also served as Chairman of the North Central Region of The Church of God and the Executive Director of United Ministries International. Pastor Rone received his Associated Degree from the Community College of the Air Force and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity Degree from Anderson School of Theology and holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree.

Pastor Rone has been actively involved in the community for 29 years. He has served as president and vice-president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Metropolitan Omaha, as well as on several boards including Turning Point and the Butler-Gast YMCA. He also served as Chairman of the Tidewater Ministerial Fellowship and the Interstate Association of the Church of God. Additionally, he has experience as former Senior Pastor of United Baptist Church in Okinawa, Japan and as Leader of the Base Chapel Gospel Worship Service while stationed at Udorn Royal Thai Air Base in Thailand.

In his ministry and life, he has had many highlights including: baptizing an 83-year-old Okinawan woman who converted to Christianity, being a keynote speaker at the Black History Month Worship Service at the United States Military Academy West Point, watching his son graduate from the Academy, and more. 

He was a participant in the Selma to Montgomery March on March 25, 1965, and served as the coordinator of the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Weekend in Omaha, Nebraska for 28 years. He was also the personal assistant to prominent Civil Rights Attorney Fred D. Gray and Mrs. Gray during the 34th Annual MLK Memorial Weekend in Omaha, Nebraska 2017. Additionally, he served as the Counseling Pastor for Bethel Family Worship Center and is married to Beverly Catledge Rone, with whom he has five children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
